Screen printing is a printing technique where a mesh screen is used to transfer ink onto a t-shirt, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a stencil. A blade or squeegee is moved across the screen to fill it with ink, and a reverse stroke pushes the ink through the non-stenciled areas of the screen to contact the t-shirt below. Complex images with up to 6 colours can be accomplished by using multiple stencils and screens to layer the ink.
